When the pulp of the tooth becomes infected due to decay or damage, root canal treatment is required. The pulp, which is located inside the tooth, supplies the tooth with nutrients and blood. If the infection is left untreated, it may spread throughout the tooth's root canal system, result in an abscess (which can be excruciatingly painful), and harm the bone surrounding the tooth. The tooth will probably need to be extracted if no treatment is received. The infected pulp is removed during root canal therapy, and the root canals are then filled. It might require two or three visits to finish this. To make the tooth and its surroundings painless, we will first numb the area. After that, we fill it with a special material to seal it and help prevent any future issues. Often, the decay weakens the tooth, so we might suggest having a crown fitted to strengthen it.
